Selected masterpieces from 1989 to the first two decennials of the new millennium provide a first-hand insight into the complexity of George Condo’s work. The artist’s work is obsessively preoccupied with rendering of the human condition and its spiritual abysses.
Confronting and fusing concepts of imaginary and visible reality, opposing different degrees of abstraction and figuration, quoting and elaborating art-historical precedents, George Condo, with a twinkle in his eyes, presents us his mind-boggling universe of imaginary beings.
